After an amazing connection between Tyler Frydenlund (part of the recovery team) and his former scout leader, Tim White, we were able to retrieve the balloon from just .6 miles south of DIA!
Tim White took time out of his own lunch hour to help find our balloon, rig, and experiments!
We don't have the data yet, but the timing of the balloon ascent, when we lost track of the GPS tracker at 60,000ft, and when it came back on the map again tells us that it probably didn't get much above 60,000 feet. We will see where got when we get the data (hopefully it survived).
Now it's time to wrap up the experiments and wait for our analysis meeting next week! I will follow up this post with a final rundown of some of the data, but won't post videos until the students see if first :-)
Thanks again for everyone who was involved and helped with the launch this morning! We couldn't have done it without you!
